Victory at Sea - USS Yorktown brings one of the most pivotal aircraft carriers of World War II to your naval battles. As a member of the Yorktown-class, she played a crucial role in early Pacific engagements, from the first American offensives in the Gilbert and Marshall Islands to the intense carrier battles of 1942.
At the Battle of the Coral Sea, Yorktown's aircraft, alongside those from Lexington, sank the Japanese light carrier Shoho and damaged Shokaku, though Yorktown herself sustained heavy damage. Rushed back to Pearl Harbor, she underwent emergency repairs in just 48 hours before sailing to the Battle of Midway. There, her aircraft helped sink two Japanese fleet carriers, while her presence diverted enemy attacks away from Enterprise and Hornet. Despite these efforts, she was ultimately crippled by air strikes and later finished off by torpedoes from the Japanese submarine I-168. This highly detailed model captures the storied history of USS Yorktown, making it an essential addition to any Victory at Sea fleet. Available now at Boarding School Games.
