Southern Pacific is a railroad investment board game that turns players into Robber Barons building lines across the American Southwest. The Civil War is over, the Southwest is booming, and railroads are being started and funded across Texas and beyond. Players invest in the Southern Pacific, Missouri Pacific, Texas & Pacific, Missouri-Kansas-Texas and Galveston, Houston & Henderson railroads and steer them toward the most lucrative routes. Each railroad president decides how much to pay out in dividends and how much to keep for expansion, knowing that unhappy shareholders can force a hostile takeover.
