Pike & Shotte: Italian Wars (1494-1559) - Landsknecht Starter Army

Pike & Shotte: Italian Wars (1494-1559) - Landsknecht Starter Army is a boxed 28 mm army of German mercenaries that starts a Landsknecht force for Pike & Shotte. Landsknechts were raised by the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I in answer to the Swiss mercenary pikemen who had dominated battlefields before the Italian Wars. Their use of firearms alongside the pike gave them a tactical edge. Veteran Doppelsoldner fought in the front ranks with arquebus, crossbow or six-foot two-handed Zweihander swords. The box contains 96 plastic pikemen with command options, 24 plastic Landsknechts with Zweihanders and 24 with crossbows or arquebus, four metal officers, and a metal Handbuchse light gun with crew. A full-color flag sheet and plastic bases are included, and the models are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Available now at Boarding School Games - hire your mercenary army.
