This Great Battles of History volume focuses on the packed formations, battlefield drift, cavalry harassment, missile troops, and shock combat that defined Persian-Hellenistic warfare. Players command forces across eleven battles, including Marathon, Plataea, Leuctra, Mantinea, Cunaxa, Delium, Mycale, Nemea, Coronea, Tanagra, and Ephesus. Detailed rules model the strengths and limits of heavy infantry phalanxes, Persian light cavalry, chariots, and different approaches to closing for combat.
