El Grande

El Grande is a board game that sharpens area control into a tense contest of influence across 15th-century Spain.

Send caballeros to the nine regions, watch the king’s position shift priorities, and time your plays to seize majorities when scoring hits. Turn order flows from power cards; each round you’ll pick one of five action cards to place pieces and trigger special effects. After three rounds, regions score—repeat through nine rounds to crown the new ruler. This refreshed edition honors the 1996 Game of the Year and folds in two new mini expansions for added variety.
