Seljuk: Byzantium Besieged, 1068-1071 is a standalone historical board wargame that recreates the 1068–1071 struggle between the Eastern Roman Empire and the Seljuk Turks across Asia Minor.
Players take command of either the Eastern Romans or the Seljuks in Volume V of the Levy & Campaign Series. The game focuses on medieval logistics, maneuver, sieges, raids, and the pressure of asymmetric objectives across a point-to-point map. Roman forces rely on armored infantry, mounted Tagmata, frontier Themata, and fortified towns, while the Seljuks use mobile horse archers, allied vassals, and raiding pressure to ravage Roman lands. Each turn represents 90 days, and the shifting loyalty of allied Lords adds another layer of uncertainty to the campaign. Designed for 1–2 players ages 14 and up, Seljuk delivers a tense contest of positioning, timing, and long-term operational planning. Available now at Boarding School Games—Defend or ravage Anatolia.
